bby/mmy playdates

bby/mmy: playdates is an immersive, site-specific performance art piece that is performed Avonlady style in varius homes and invites the public into the private sphere of home-based carework.

Inspired by the textures and pacing of childhood play, bby/mmy: playdates blends storytelling, movement, and music to, at some points, include the audience in the labor of caretaking and, at other points, require audience members to be receivers of care.

The piece is underpinned by a narrative following Becky, a 30-something mom undergoing cancer treatment, and Reba, her late-20s girl-failure nanny.
